New membership intakes are usually announced on our Facebook Page. New applicants can expect correspondence in the Fall. Membership provides great opportunities to gain valuable skills and be part of a community that provides critical aid and outdoor safety education to the public.
Members are generally required to attend a set number of training sessions and community outreach events throughout the year. Within that period, members are also required to be available for at least 2 live call outs.

Perform a Criminal Record Check
Visit the Government of British Columbia website at https://justice.gov.bc.ca/eCRC/home.htm
Once on the website, follow the steps as described. The first step will be to verify your identity through the Electronic Identity Verification (EIV) process. In order to proceed you will be required to enter an access code.
Revelstoke Search and Rescue’s unique identification code is: 5L2L58487S
After you have entered our identification code and proven that you are not a nefarious robot, you will be required to select 1 of 2 options. For most members this will mean selecting Option 1: Request a New Criminal Record Check. Once selected you will be asked to fill in and submit your information for processing. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation of submission. It is recommended that you print this for your records. Once processed, Revelstoke Search and Rescue will receive the basic result directly by email.
This is a limited check with the strict purpose of determining suitability for work with minors and vulnerable adults only. The results of this check are securely and confidentially shared with REVSAR and contain only the minimum relevant information that is deemed necessary by the British Columbia Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General. No other unrelated information is collected or shared with Revelstoke Search and Rescue, it’s society, or any other agency. Based on your check, you may be required to provide fingerprints. Your fingerprints, if required, are not shared with Revelstoke Search and Rescue, it’s society, or any other agency and are a common requirement for working with children.
